The Unity Party of America
Bill Hammons, disillusioned with what he saw in major-party politics, founded the Unity Party of America with his father on November 4, 2004, and this national Centrist organization which supports Balanced Budgets, measures to fight Climate Change, anti-Gerrymandering efforts and other common sense solutions now has members in 39 states listed on its national website of www.unitedunitedstates.com.
Hammons is also the Chairman of the Unity Party of Colorado, which achieved official recognition as the newest of six political parties by the State of Colorado on (appropriately enough) D-Day in June of 2017. Hammons put the Unity Party on the state voter registration form and on the political map with petitioning as an UP US Senate candidate in 2014 and 2016, but Unity Party candidates no longer need to petition onto the General Election ballot thanks to the party's new status. Four UP Colorado nominees, including Lt Governor candidate (a.k.a. Hammons running mate) Eric Bodenstab, appeared on the November 2018 General Election ballot and garnered vote counts well into five digits for multiple individual Unity Party campaigns.
