Hands down any legitimate lawsuits againts the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over alleged involvement
(direct or indirect) of
any of its officials in the 9-11 attacks should be allowed to proceed in courts of law. The
argument for sovereign
immunity made by the Obama administration - that the United States could in turn be sued by foreign
governments for its own support of "terrorist" acts - can be easily remedied by additional
Congressional legislation only permitting suits if at least 3,000 civilians are murdered on a
single day during the event in question (that would only serve to drive home the point).
For too long countries like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have been allowed to play both arsonist and
firefighter when it comes to Islamic extremism, and it's time to call them out on their hypocrisy.
