US Senate Candidate Hammons Seeks Justice in Ballot Order
Boulder, Colorado – 2016 Unity Party of America US Senate Candidate Bill Hammons (www.billisrunning.com) will petition Colorado state lawmakers currently drafting bills for the upcoming legislative session to update Colorado's election law.
"Now that the Unity Party of Colorado is officially recognized on Colorado's voter registration form and we're attracting voter affiliations double digits at a time even in off years [www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/elections/VoterRegNumbers/VoterRegNumbers.html] it's only appropriate that the party's candidates be given proper placement on future election ballots," says Party Chairman and 2016 US Senate Candidate Hammons. "I was dismayed to learn last year from the state's Elections Division that I was being listed with Unaffiliated candidates on the State's US Senate ballot further down on that ballot than I might have been had the State properly written the laws so that Qualified Political Organization candidates receive the same ballot placement as Minor Party candidates.
"Therefore I'll be contacting state lawmakers to update the law this upcoming session, giving them the opportunity to show they're serious about allowing true innovation and competition in our electoral system."
